Arizona Corn and Watermelon Festivals: Summer 2026
When it Rains, it Corns
Nothing cuts through the summer heat faster than a fresh slice of dripping wet watermelon, or brings a more hometown feel to a family outing than crunching into fresh corn on the cob. Wrap these delights all up in the setting of a festival, complete with music, activities and community, and you have the perfect getaway for family and friends this summer in Arizona’s corn and watermelon bounty.
I’ve placed these events in chronological order for you here, so you can plan your visits, and not need to pick and choose between:

The Watermelon and Sweet Corn Festival at Mortimer Farms in Dewey, Arizona, will take place August 23rd and 24th, 2026.
Whether you’re seeking to start a new family tradition or continue an old one, this festival is the perfect place for you. In addition to the succulent treats of watermelon and sweet corn, Mortimer Farms always offers a wide array of exciting activities with something for everyone to enjoy.
Mark your calendars to celebrate the bountiful harvest, and come together in experiencing the valuable lessons that nature has for us. Mortimer Farms exemplifies family heritage in this working farm, for an unforgettable experience! Activities include:
- Corny Game Show: Sweet Corn eating contest, watermelon spitting contest and more!
- Baby Bean Activity: Kids plant beans in a zippy that goes around their necks, and then take them home to observe their growth (body heat acts as the sun – and beans grow fast, so they will see the lifecycle).
- Grain Train Ride to the Sweet Corn Field: This educational and fun Farm Tour is a unique opportunity to ride the Grain Train and personally harvest your own sweet corn. This once-a-year experience allows you to connect with the farming process and gather the freshest, juiciest sweet corn straight from the fields. Don’t miss out on this special chance to get your hands dirty and create lasting memories.
- Weather & Location: Dewey, AZ is located about 30 minutes from Prescott and roughly an hour and a half from Phoenix. The weather is typically about 20 degrees cooler than the Phoenix metro area.

The Snowflake–Taylor Sweet Corn Festival will take place on September 5th, when local harvests are at their best.
The parade, an Arts and Crafts Show, food vendors, entertainment, kids’ horseless rodeo, and lots of fresh, local sweet corn are all part of this festival celebrating the harvest of Taylor farmers’ primary crop — Sweet Corn.
The festival reflects Taylor’s farming roots and appreciation for simple fun. It is an easygoing event that feels as much like a community picnic as a festival. A Fun Run and Cornhole Tournament will also be held. The event expects about 50 vendors, and is sponsored by the Snowflake-Taylor Chamber of Commerce.
