What did you Eat Today

My health classes, guest speaking commitments, church activities and certainly through every day life experiences affords me the opportunity to speak to many people about their own personal pursuit of reclaiming their health and preventing disease. One of the things I observe in my conversations with people about the subject of health is that often the person becomes consumed with giving up unhealthy foods and yet fails to introduce nutrition to their body. Abstaining from unhealthy food is of highest importance. One cannot reclaim their health or prevent disease as long as they continue to consume dead food void of nutrition. However, as good as removing the unhealthy foods from your daily menu may be, introducing nutritious, healthy and living foods is equally important. I have many friends who call to tell me that they have stop consuming soda, fried foods, fast foods, excessive caffeine, processed foods like candy bars and pastries yet they still are fatigued or they haven’t seen the progress I have experienced. As I interview them for more information I find one common thread between them. Kas Winters Don t buy that Toy

Have you ever spent money on a toy only to find that the child who received it had more fun with the box? Does your child ever sit, surrounded by toys and complain that he or she is bored and that there is nothing to do? My thirty-five year-old son recently said that my slogan should be, “You’ll never need to buy another toy again.” That’s a great idea. Of course, he grew up in an atmosphere where there was on-going creative play to stimulate imagination and provide experiences for hands-on learning. Our children did have some toys; but mostly, we spent time doing activities that were, quite honestly, more fun than many toys. These had the added value of building self-reliance and other traits that serve them well as adults. Click here for the full article.

Are you health conscious? The initial response would typically relate to your knowledge and application of diet, exercise, avoidance of smoking, and regular visits to the doctor. These areas are important to the health conscious person. I would like to expand your thinking to allow for an analysis of your conscious awareness of and sensitivity to specific issues in your constant control that can greatly effect your health. Spring into Cleaning

During the month of March we move into Spring. When I think of Spring-I think of Spring Cleaning. It’s a time to get rid of cobwebs, dust bunnies and the accumulations from winter. However for the blog this month we are going to focus on a different type of Spring Cleaning and that is letting go of behaviors or issues that are in our way to being our best self. Changing Our Stories

Last month your assignment was to explore the stories you tell in the areas of health, happiness, work, family and relationships. We focused on these five areas because we sometimes have the most creative and revealing stories in these areas of our lives. Jodie Wilson Twitter Client Pooped on Me!

One fine day I was enjoying myself, surfing the net, sending tweets (twitter messages) and building my friends and followers lists. As a result, I began to receive e-mails from some of the other twitter users. The emails had interesting and provocative topics about increasing search engine optimization (SEO) and building your business on the web. Because, I own a website and do most of my research from my computer, I started reading some of the advertisements that were sent to me. The problem was the emails were outside of the safe confines of Twitter, and they were from sources I was not familiar with. ( I should have heeded the warning I give to my grandchildren, “Stranger / Danger!”) I went to read more about a product and it attached keyword launch advertisements to my computer. Suddenly, PLOP right on my computer, I had contracted not the swine flu but a spyware/adware virus. Click here for the full article.
