Omega 9 Fatty Acids

I have dedicated my April, May and June blogs to writing about what I call the Omega Factor. Understanding the differences between Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids will make all the difference in your personal pursuit of reclaiming your health and preventing disease. I have covered Omega 6 and 3 fatty acids in my April and May blogs. We know Omega 6 fatty acids are dangerously over consumed by Americans leading to inflammation in the body and a host of other ill consequences. Therefore we must lower our intake of Omega 6 fatty acids. We also know that Americans are not consuming enough of Omega 3 fatty acids which are healthy fats the body needs. Therefore we must increase Omega 3 fatty acids. Click here for the full article.

Health News You Can Use

Research shows over and over that exercise is good for you. Most people would understand that exercise builds muscle tone, improves cardiovascular health and helps maintain a healthy weight. However many people do not realize that exercise can have a positive effect on memory and mood. We may realize that a walk after a stressful meeting helps to “blow off steam”, or that we sleep better after exercise. A recent study discussed the benefits of exercise for depression and mood gives indications of long term effects of maintaining mental and emotional health. Click here for the full article.

Give Yourself the Gift of Health

What is the one gift that you can give to yourself this Christmas that will also give to others? The answer is simple; your health. What ever happens to you also happens to those you love and those who love you. Your health or lack of health is experienced in one way or another by those in the sphere of your life. The gift of my health is the greatest gift I can give to my husband, children and grand children. Imagine for a moment the drama and trauma our family endured when my sister, mother and I were diagnosed with cancer in a span of two years time. For each individual that is diagnosed or living with a health condition that disrupts their life there are parents, children, siblings, friends, congregations and long distant families who are affected by the drama and trauma of one persons unfortunate health crisis. When I reclaimed my health from twelve years of chronic illness that culminated with breast cancer I also reclaimed my life and my family reclaimed rest in their souls from watching me suffer. They Don’t Come Alone

Recently I was invited to be a return guest on a local TBN Network program called “Joy in Our Town” hosted by Oralena Valero, to comment on the importance of proteins and carbohydrates. I am so grateful to Oralena for the opportunity that she gave me to contribute to the subject of health and wellness on her local program. It is my greatest desire to deliver information that will make all the difference in your personal pursuit of reclaiming your health and preventing disease in a simple and concise way. Programs like “Joy in Our Town” challenge me in the most terrific way to do just that. I am still working on it. Have you ever heard someone say, “He/she writes like they talk?” Hmm. I’ll keep working on it. Click here for the full article.

Becoming a Critical Thinker

Becoming a critical health thinker is one of the number one things I attribute to reclaiming my health.
