Your First Line of Defense

October is breast cancer awareness month. Simple Health Ministries was born out of my own personal pursuit of reclaiming my health and preventing further disease. I was living with twelve years of chronic, debilitating illness that culminated in breast cancer, stage two with a rapid dividing cell. I was in the worse shape of my life and everything that could be wrong with me was wrong with me. I had lost all hope of ever reclaiming my health and then through a series of events I came across some life changing, life saving information that would make all the difference in my journey to reclaiming my health. This month’s blog is dedicated to breast cancer prevention. The following are critical prevention skills that are the first line of defense against breast cancer. Click here for the full article.

Simple Health Food Exchange

Sickness and Disease does not fall out of the sky, land on our heads and into our bodies, but many of the diseases Americans are enduring are called the diseases of affluence. Definition of Affluence: an abundant supply: Our prosperous America is facing a spiral of diseases connected to excess of unhealthy foods and life style choices. We are consuming in surplus, overload, overindulgence, extra and immoderation: Click here for the full article.

Omega 9 Fatty Acids

I have dedicated my April, May and June blogs to writing about what I call the Omega Factor. Understanding the differences between Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids will make all the difference in your personal pursuit of reclaiming your health and preventing disease. I have covered Omega 6 and 3 fatty acids in my April and May blogs. We know Omega 6 fatty acids are dangerously over consumed by Americans leading to inflammation in the body and a host of other ill consequences. Therefore we must lower our intake of Omega 6 fatty acids. We also know that Americans are not consuming enough of Omega 3 fatty acids which are healthy fats the body needs. Therefore we must increase Omega 3 fatty acids. Click here for the full article.

What did you Eat Today

My health classes, guest speaking commitments, church activities and certainly through every day life experiences affords me the opportunity to speak to many people about their own personal pursuit of reclaiming their health and preventing disease. One of the things I observe in my conversations with people about the subject of health is that often the person becomes consumed with giving up unhealthy foods and yet fails to introduce nutrition to their body. Abstaining from unhealthy food is of highest importance. One cannot reclaim their health or prevent disease as long as they continue to consume dead food void of nutrition. However, as good as removing the unhealthy foods from your daily menu may be, introducing nutritious, healthy and living foods is equally important. I have many friends who call to tell me that they have stop consuming soda, fried foods, fast foods, excessive caffeine, processed foods like candy bars and pastries yet they still are fatigued or they haven’t seen the progress I have experienced. As I interview them for more information I find one common thread between them. They stopped doing all the wrong things or at least some but they never have quite accomplished introducing the right things Click here for the full article.

They Don’t Come Alone

Recently I was invited to be a return guest on a local TBN Network program called “Joy in Our Town” hosted by Oralena Valero, to comment on the importance of proteins and carbohydrates. I am so grateful to Oralena for the opportunity that she gave me to contribute to the subject of health and wellness on her local program. It is my greatest desire to deliver information that will make all the difference in your personal pursuit of reclaiming your health and preventing disease in a simple and concise way. Programs like “Joy in Our Town” challenge me in the most terrific way to do just that. I am still working on it. Have you ever heard someone say, “He/she writes like they talk?” Hmm. I’ll keep working on it. Click here for the full article.
