To Blog or Not to Blog?
Simple Health Ministries Becky Campos

To Blog or not to Blog?  That was the question I asked myself over and over.  Every time I have an opportunity to share my story I am asked if I have a Blog. I remember the very first time I heard about blogging I was embarrassed to admit that I was absolutely clueless to what a blogger actually was.  I must say that before I knew that the word blog is short for weblog and that blogging is another form of media information, I thought blogging sounded indecent.  Are you a blogger?  Absolutely not!  As you can tell by now, I am a little behind the information age.

I want to thank my business counselor David, who helped me to see that it was a crime not to contribute to the subject of health and wellness through whatever means available to me.  It was his enthusiasm for Simple Health ministries that introduced me to the world of blogging and so much more.

Simple Health ministries

Welcome to Simple Health ministries.  Hi, my name is Becky Campos and I reclaimed my health through faith and nutrition. I had been living with twelve years of chronic, debilitating illness that plagued my body, consumed my days and changed my life forever.  I had lost all hope of ever reclaiming my health.  In addition on an unsuspecting day I found a lump under my arm and before I knew it I was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage two with a rapid dividing cell.  As you can imagine I was in the worse shape of my life.  Everything that could be wrong with me was wrong with me.  I was coming apart at the seams of my life.  I was more than interested in the subject of health and wellness I was desperate.  I was forced to study the subject of health and I came face to face with how uneducated I was about my body, sickness and disease and the subject of health and wellness.  Through a series of events in my life unimaginable to me I would reclaim my health through faith and nutrition.  I read a few books by some of the top health experts and applied their recommendations one truth at a time.  Little by little each resource I read or watched, led me to more information, which led me to reclaiming my health.

Today not only have I reclaimed my health, but I reclaimed my life.  As far as health is concerned I work smarter not harder.  In my journey I learned that there is not one thing or product that can promise you health and wellness, but rather it is a series of smart choices that if practiced relentlessly over a long period of time you can reverse disease, and better yet prevent disease. Now that I have achieved reclaiming my health, I have been telling my story in a “Six Weeks of Simple Health” class I teach in my local community sharing what I had to do to reverse the debilitating effects of years of sickness and disease and building a case for health.

I consider myself and Simple Health ministries to be part of a grass roots effort when it comes to the subject of health and wellness.  At first, I minimized the need to contribute to the subject of health and wellness when I observed the countless of resources by more qualified experts that can endorse the subject far better than I ever could.

Yet I am still amazed at how many women call me just to hear my experience for themselves as they seek to reclaim their health.  Somehow they make their way into my life even for just a moment in hope that I might be able to make some contribution to their personal pursuit of reclaiming their health and preventing disease.  Each time I take a phone call with a desperate woman on the other side I realize the great need to continue to tell my story.  However it is almost impossible to relate to them my complete story, the crisis, and the answers I have discovered that helped me to reclaim my health from twelve years of chronic illness and a breast cancer diagnosis all in a conversation over the phone.  It usually takes me one hour with each woman to hear her need, share my story in a few minutes, answer questions, etc.  So when I finally am off the phone I know that there has to be a smarter way to help them.  I want to help them in a more efficient way, less haphazard and more thorough.  One day after spending two hours on the phone with two different women I sat in my living room with my Bible and opened it to the great Psalms just simply to deposit words of life back into my soul.  I prayed for these two women and released my sense of helplessness to God’s unlimited love and care for them.  I felt a deep sigh join my moment as I continued to consider what contribution I might make to the subject of health and wellness.  As I sat there fully determined to listen to God’s leading and acknowledge my own limitations in this decision, I was comforted by the words of Pastor Charles Stanely “Obey God and leave the consequences to Him.”  After a series of events in my life I concluded that my contribution no matter how small it may seem to me, to those who are suffering with sickness and disease as I did, it is a resource of hope.

Simple Health ministries exist to encourage the heart of those who are suffering with sickness and disease and to assist them with tangible resources that will make a difference in their own personal pursuit of reclaiming their health and preventing disease.

If you have a medical question I will not be of much help to you because I am not a medical authority.  If you have an alternative medicine question I can suggest alternative resources to you and I strongly encourage you to consult with an alternative expert like a Naturopath.  If you have questions on how to change your lifestyle so that you can assist your body in reclaiming your health and preventing disease then I can most definitely help you.

Simple Health ministries is my personal contribution to the subject of health and wellness.  My “Six Weeks of Simple Health” class is specifically designed to encourage and assist people in:

• Becoming critical health thinkers
• Making necessary lifestyle changes that will promote health and wellness
• Applying Biblical truth in their journey to reclaiming their health and preventing disease

You will be pleasantly surprised at how simple health really is.
