The light in Arizona got better when Enlighten Candles arrived on the retail scene in 2013.

Juianna LyddonWhat’s different about an Enlighten brand candle? Each candle is hand made in Arizona from start to finish. And because their creators respect and honor the ancient art of candle making, every one is considered a personalized work of art.

One of the company’s owners, Julianna Lyddon, says, “Our candles are made with non-GMO soy wax and phthalate-free essential oils and fragrances.” She and her partner, Beth Gorman-Hackstadt love candles. She says, “I knew there was a way to create a beautiful candle with powerful bouquets that are also eco-friendly and economical.”

The “powerful bouquets” Lyddon mentions are meant to blossom in proximity to a small flame. Think of the smell of a rose. The rose scented Enlighten candle evolves that note with lily, fern, and marigold. The signature scent, great for year-round use in the home is meant to add calmness to the atmosphere with lemongrass, black currant and undertones of patchouli, lime and sugar cane. An unscented Enlighten candle was created to illuminate only the joy in your surroundings.

It’s easy to find Enlighten Candles—they’re sold in almost all the Whole Foods Stores in Arizona as well as the Westin in Kierland and the Boulders Resort and Spa. If you are a candle lover, a great way to support your passion for wonderful aromas and soft lighting is to join the Candle Club offered through the website. It’s a great way to get a new candle every month.

Enlighten Candles Arizona donates candles to Lucky Paws of Arizona, a non-profit organization that rescues animals. Lucky Paws is a no kill shelter. The Enlighten Candles donations support their fundraisers—and make the shelter smell very pretty!
