The Art of Making a Blog for SEO Rankings

“Take your passion,  And make it happen.
Pictures come alive,  you can dance right through your life.” Irene Cara “Flashdance”

It’s that seduction, persuasion to create a feeling or take someone to a place far from where they are just for that moment in Discover the Regiontime. Blogging is that dance. Take your reader on a journey with you.  When I am counseling a new client on writing a blog, we work together to create a template to follow.  This structure allows you a starting place for your blog with a beginning, layout and an ending.

Here are a few of my tips that will seduce the reader and SEO’s with a whisper.

1. Come up with a Title that will draw attention.  5 to 7 words are optimal
2. Add a quote that relates to your blog. Always credit the author
3. Reinforce your content by using words from your title in the first paragraph
4. Include hyperlinks, books, and articles you feel support your blog
5. You need at least 250 words no more than 500.  If you have more to say split it into 2 to 3 stories.
6. Don’t use words that people don’t know or abbreviations. If you do, take the time to explain with the first reference.
7. Include Photos (*watermarked) or links to you tube videos.  Always, use your own photos or purchase from a stock photo business.  *I have used Picasa 3 web albums for years but it looks like you will use Google Photos
8. Spell check and proof your blog. Let someone else read it for feedback.
9. Always use your signature close or personal business statement.

New clients are not born of a single blog post.  You need to remember take the time to let them get to know you, the romance, if you will. Blogging gives you the opportunity to increase brand visibility, engage with the public and create a persona that people trust and look to for industry knowledge. Remember, the persuasion and passion.  It’s a Dance not only with a client, but the SEO will love you too.
