3 Quick Fixes to Make Your Blog Stand Out

“I realized something on the ride. I realized if I wait until I’m not scared to try new things, then I’ll never get to try them at all.”  Maxine Sexton

I’ll be the first to admit that writing does not come naturally or easy for me.  But like anything else the more you work at it the better you get. Knowing these 3 simple fixes can help you create an outstanding blog.

Blogging is not a perfectly written piece of ligature.  It is a thought or topic that gives way to you being an expert or someone that people can trust. The perfect blog size should be at a minimum of 250 words and really no more than about 500. The reader first looks at your blog, they asses if they can read it now or come back to it later. Your choice is for them is to read it now.

Here are 3 quick fixes that will keep them reading on

Add Pictures
A couple of pictures will make the difference.  Most people fall into the visual category and will make quick determinations Dr Bret Wilsonbased on a photo to proceeding on.  My tip: Use your own pictures or purchase them from an online stock photo business.  If you take the chance and use a photo from the internet you may receive a notification of copy write violation and it can be costly. Don’t forget to water mark them with your brand, so wherever they travel on the internet your brand is a subtle reminder.

Use Bullet Points
Bullet points allow the reader to peruse the article and get the highlight of your blog quick. Your blog should not be complicated.  Strive for about a 6th grade reading level, this keeps it at a conversational level and easy to comprehend.

Always end with your Personal Business Statement
Now that they have made it to the end of your blog tell them who you are and what you can do to help them.

Example: Dr. Bret Wilson wants you to move, play and live free from neck and back pain.  For more information about chiropractic, posture, exercise, and how to make better choices about your health visit our website www.bellwestchiro.com.  Find a chiropractor in your area to help you with safe and effective health care.  http://www.acatoday.org/Find-a-Doctor
